For most of my life I didn’t even own a camera. But when I came to Japan in 2006 I felt I kind of had to, so I got a Fuji F30 for some occasional snapshots. After some wonderful hiking trips all over Kansai in 2009 I decided that I wanted to improve the quality of the pictures I take, so I made myself an early Christmas present and got my first DSLR – a Nikon D90. Learning by doing from the beginning till now I got some very motivating feedback from people enjoying this blog.
This is a selection of the best pictures I published so far – in a slightly higher resolution, but none of them got the advantage of any post-production and all of them were shot in JPG. If you miss your favorite photo or think one or two shots don’t deserve to be on this special page please drop me a line either in the comments or at abandonedkansaiSPAMPROTECTION@gmail.com. (Without the capitalized part, of course.) This gallery will always be in motion anyways since there are still many locations waiting to be published…

Love the doll in the mask!
I really like the way you shoot building interiors. You seem to capture their essence quite strikingly – and make me wish for the opportunity to wander through them for a time.
Thanks a lot, much appreciated!
Beautiful photos…you have a good eye for composition!
