This may have been a German barracks back in the day, but when the US Army occupied CFK, it was an office building, #4006. The V Corps Office of the Staff Judge Advocate branch office was on the first floor; the air conditioning is mounted where the courtroom used to be. There were old barracks rooms on the top floor, but in 2008 when we closed, they had not been used in a while. I was in charge until closure; I still have the key to the inner glass doors for the first floor, just in case we need to open it back up. 🙂
I was stationed at CFK from 1988-1992 with the 32d AADCOM. I worked for the Command Engineer. Many great memories of CFK and Darmstadt.
